Your child will be added to my Microsoft Team.  There you will find my Virtual Classroom.  There are links to virtual manipulatives and interactive activities for your child to use at any time.  We will be using Clever in class to access acceptable links.  I have several links on your child's Clever account that they can use for additional practice of math concepts.

 

Boddle - A free interactive math review/learning game.  The games various the questions it gives the students based on their skill level.  Students answer math questions to earn coins for their Boddle Buddy (avatar).  They can buy things with those coins for their buddy, buddy's house, or to play extra games.  Your child will have access to it via Clever.

99Math - Another game that can be accessed through Clever or on your own.  Students can improve their fluency in several math areas.

Education.com -  It has songs, games, and fun interactive math activities to improve understanding and skills.

IXL - Math and Grammar skills - You can do some free stuff on here, but it is a pay site.  If you clear your browser cookies each time it asks you to sign up, you can continue to use it for free.

Greg Tang Games - Improve math skills and dive in deeper with interactive games and activities.  Online manipulatives also available.

Prodigy Math Game - This is a skill-based game that has an adventure the kids can go through while answering math questions and gaining awards.  It's free.

Graham Fletcher's The Progression of Addition and Subtraction video - This is a 7 minute video that explains WHY we teach in the order that we do.  It informs the viewer of how kids learn and understand math, as well as why the Standard Algorithm isn't addressed in primary grades before kids are ready.

There IS a Difference video - This video explains Memorization vs. From Memory.  It also addresses why memorization doesn't always work for complex problems and the pitfalls of it.

Christina Tondlevold's Rekenrek video -  We use Rekenreks in class. This explains what Rekenreks are and 5 activities of how they can be used.

Make a Rekenrek - If you are interested in having a Rekenrek at home, this video explain how you can make one instead of buying one.

Online Interactive Rekenrek - Don't want to make or buy one - Here's an online Rekenrek to use!

Common Objections to Teaching the Area Model - this video talks about the key reasons that people object to some of the strategies taught in school and why they actually work long-term and build a greater mathematical understanding.

Khan Academy - This website has videos and practice for kids to learn math at their own pace for grades K-12.  You can use it fill in gaps in their understanding or use it for enrichment.

Education.com - Resources available for all subject areas from Pre-K to High School.  Items can be searched by grade level and subject. Resources include worksheets, games, workbooks, activities, lesson plans for parents, exercises, songs, stories, and weekly boosts.
