Hello, my name is Stephanie Bledsoe. I am a second grade teacher at Apollo-Ridge Elementary School. The 2023-2024 school year marks my seventh year with the district. Before joining the Apollo-Ridge staff, I was an educator in Virginia for ten years. I am excited to learn about your child and see them grow this school year.
The transition from first to second grade tends to be a big jump for many students. Many move from concrete learners to being able to think more abstractly. Their brains go through big developmental changes, and they are able to do so much more. The best thing we can do for them is to work together as a team and support each other. College graduate of: Clarion University (Bachelors; Elementary Education) and George Mason University (Masters; Curriculum and Instruction).
Certifications held: K-6 Elementary Education (Pennsylvania and Virginia).
I have a wonderful husband, two young sons, a baby daughter, and a pet Yorkie named Tucker. I love spending time with them and my extended family. In my "free time", I enjoy reading, watching movies, listening to music, playing board and card games, and finding little excursions for us to do as a family. I love teaching math and enjoy continuing my own education in that area.
