Virtual Classrooms – I use them as an instructional tool in my room during the school day to easily store, access and show the class short educational videos to introduce or review our ELA and Math skills and vocabulary.  Also, the students will use the virtual classroom at school to access websites for ELA and Math during small group time and take tests on Microsoft Forms. Your child can get onto my Team to rewatch any of the educational videos or practice Reading or  Math skills with you at home IF they/you want to.
To get to my virtual classrooms:
  • Choose my Team (Rainbow icon - Mrs. Kehew’s Team 2023)
  • Choose the ELA or Math Channel on the left side
  • Click on "More" at the top, in the drop down menu, click the current week
  • On the "Welcome" screen of my virtual classroom, click on the day that they want to look at.

Forms Tests - I will give some tests on “Forms” online in class.  The kids will click on a hyperlink on their computer to take the quiz in class. If you want to see their score/test AFTER they take it, you will need to go onto My Team, mostly on the ELA virtual room, click on the week and day that I gave the test, click on the blue hyperlink. This can only be done AFTER they have taken the test or else the computer will score a zero for your child’s grade.

Freckle - We will use Freckle to practice Math skills.  If you want your child to use it at home also, download the Freckle app, and to log in to Freckle for the first time on a new device, enter your child's email as the username and their lunch # is the password. Our Freckle class code:  kehew5. The pink pig icon on my Team is for Freckle is on the bookshelf on each Math virtual classroom.

Reading A-Z - We will use RAZ to access leveled stories for each child.  The RAZ icon is on the bookshelf of each ELA virtual classroom, on every day. Click on the icon, click their name, click the rabbit password.

Go Math - For our Math series, the website for practice or other resources is Go Math (Think Central) Click on the Go Math book on the bookshelf,  username: lunch #, password: lunch #.
For a review/introduction of a specific Math lesson, click on the bird above the Go Math book, click on the chapter, then the lesson.

Also on my virtual classroom:
  • The clock will link you to our daily schedule.
  • The picture of me will link you to my Apollo Ridge website.
  • The Bitmoji of me, will take you back to the Welcome screen for ELA or Math.
Microsoft Teams

The district’s primary form of communication between is staff and families is Microsoft Teams.  In my class, I use it to send reminders, and messages to the whole group, share pictures of the kids from our day and send personal chats to individual parents/guardians about their child’s progress and/or behavior.  I usually will not send paper notes or reminders home.

Please download the Microsoft Teams app onto your personal device. Also, please set it to allow notifications on your device so that when I send a message or post something, you will be notified.  If not, then please check it daily/nightly as you would your email.

Since it’s an account using your child’s email and not adults’ in the family, I cannot tell from just a message which adult is typing to me.  Therefore, it’s always a good idea to let me know who is messaging or responding to my message.
  1. Download the app to your device.
  2. The username is your child’s email (the first 5 letters of their last name, their first initial, the year they will graduate, and then @apolloridge).
Ex. John Smith in my class this year would be:  [email protected]
  1. The password for everyone is Viking123 (uppercase V)
If you have any technical problems, please contact Mr. Johnson in our technology department.  His email is [email protected] or his extension is 5112.
