My name is Kara Rusz. I am teacher at Apollo-Ridge Elementary School. I am excited to be working to support students in grades K-5 using my teaching background in Literacy and also Special Education. The 2022-2023 school year marks my 5th year with the district.

Meet the Teacher Day - Harmony School of Excellence - El Paso
 

I am a graduate of Apollo- Ridge High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. My Bachelors degree is in Elementary Education with a minor in Educational Psychology and a Reading concentration. I also graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with my Masters degrees in the Education of Exceptional Persons and in Literacy. 

 

Certifications held: K-6 Elementary Education, Special Education N-12, and Private school Nursery/ Kindergarten N-K. I also earned my Behavioral Specialist Consultant's license through the state of Pennsylvania.

 

I live in Apollo with my husband, Jake, our 11 year old daughter, Riley, our 5 year old son, Bennett, and our 2 year old daughter, Emilia (Millie).  I enjoy spending time with my family and reading as much as I can. 

 

I am looking forward to a year filled with fun and learning!

 

Before becoming a teacher at Apollo-Ridge, I taught preschool for 5 years, worked as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant for children with autism and emotional support disorders for 8 years, and taught in a school that specializes in autism and emotional support disorders.  I am excited to learn about your child and see them grow this school year.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me!
